Tú commands: Grammar guide

How can we form a tú command?:

Let's start by telling someone to speak Spanish.

We'll use the verb hablar.

1. Remove the verb's ending (in this case, -ar).
   
   
2. Now you're left with habl-.
   
   
3. You'll want to tack on the third person singular ending (regular present tense) for that verb. (For -ar verbs, that's -a and for -ir and -er verbs, that's -e).
   
   
4. Now, you should have habla español.
